Walmart

Hi, it's Shawn here. This is my first adoption journey post. You may want to jump to the post below since we just got yesterday's post out this morning... or is it tomorrow... or yesterday? I don't know, because I can barely keep track of anything on this crazy ride! ;) The good news is God is. Being in China is much like being in the U.S., but it takes a trip to Walmart to remind you that you "aren't in Kansas anymore" :).

Nanchang Walmart

The sign on the door said Walmart, good ole' Walmart, finally a familiar place. Not sure what I was expecting, maybe those name brands and low prices. The problem with those low prices is that they are in Yuan. Can't they keep the exchange in whole numbers?!? My division and multiplication skills will be sharp by the end of this trip.

I thought we'd pass the deli area and stop by for some of that Walmart chicken, you know, those roasters you can pick up for a quick meal. What are prawns and what the heck is that other stuff in those deli cases!?!?

Then there was the mass of humanity trying to maneuver the really cramped aisles. This while we are trying to find out what a breakfast cracker is.

The best part of that trip is that our guide Mary asked if we wanted to stop by the dumpling restaurant to pick up some dumplings. Now I'm asking myself how I can bring that chain back to the United States!

Let's see what adventures China brings us today. I hear there is an RT Mart here...
