Sleeping

I found the way to get my sorry body out of bed in the morning: go to another time zone about opposite yours and try to sleep on a bed that resembles the softness of the floor! I was begging for it to be "late enough" to wake up and get up. So now here it is 5am in China and Shawn and I are sitting in the bathroom, which is very spacious I might add! me on the computer posting  and him on the ipad reading me comments!! (Please keep commenting! It is awesome to "have you here with us!")

Sophie slept all night, some tossing and turning, but never woke up that I know of!

When we were talking with the orphanage director.

Blowing bubbles! She knew what to do! Is this because of you Julie Richards?!!

Waving the flag she found in the suitcase! She also knew what to do with this! Then she hopped down off the bed and began singing her song and waving the flag and I'm not kidding, dancing and twirling around!! It was a TOTAL HOOT!! She's a keeper! :)

We go to the civil affairs today to do paperwork with our guide. This is our one official day of adoption business this week.

Love you all! Thanks for your prayers and support!

  1. Glad to hear that you are finding some alone time in China! The bathrooms can be a nice spot to hang out when everyone else is sleeping, but then I guess, where else would you go?

Thankful that the first night is down, and now ALL the rest to go. :) How great is our God! Sophie is just beaming in these pictures! Do you find yourself asking, "what were we afraid of?"

Praying for these upcoming days of last good byes for her, and continued attachment for each of you.

    Love, Amy

I want a Sophie and Mommy pic!!! Not satisfied here...;)

  2. Can not tell you how many times I was reading on the floor of a bathroom on our Philly and Montreal trips. Sounds like a bathroom at the Galactic Peace Hotel is infinitely better. :-)

LOVE the pics. And if you're taking requests, I'd like to see one of you all standing up. I enjoy seeing how tall the little ones are compared to Mom and Dad. :-)

    love,
    Jennifer

  5. Oh, wow! Is it okay to say I'm jealous? You've already held my little one, and now my heart yearns to meet your little one face to face. :) We are praying for you every day, that God will smooth out the path in front of you as you go. "He will not let your foot slip—He who watches over you will not slumber;"
    Love and prayers, Joyce

  6. We were just enjoying the pictures. Katie says, "She has a beautiful smile and cute red cheeks." Couldn't agree more.

    Blessings,
